Course Selections for 2025/2026
Good afternoon, Parents and Guardians,
Please take a moment to read the following important information regarding course selections for the 2025/2026 school year.
Starting the week of February 18th, Guidance Counsellors will be presenting key information to students about the registration process and course selections for the upcoming school year. Your child will bring home a one-page handout outlining how to register and select courses for the next school year. We invite parents to engage in thoughtful discussions with their children to review their course selections. Together, consider how these courses can support not only their academic and career goals but also their spiritual journey and personal development.
Students are required to complete the following steps:
1. Pay the $45 Activity Fee through School Cash Online.
2. Select courses for the upcoming school year on My Blueprint. (Be sure to visit ASPEN to review all graduation requirements.)
3. Submit chosen courses on My Blueprint.
4. Ensure that your child shows proof either digitally or printed of the paid activity fee and submitted courses to their Period 1 teacher between March 5th and March 7th.
For any students who miss the presentation, detailed instructions will be available on the Guidance LMS, or they can book an appointment to meet with their guidance counselor.
Additional Important Information:
· Grade 11 students should begin researching University and College programs of interest to ensure they meet the required prerequisites for post-secondary education.
· Any current Grade 12 students wishing to return to Bishop Ryan must meet with Mrs. Marrazzo in guidance to discuss next steps.
· If your child plans to take a Summer School course, please do NOT include it in the course selections for the next school year. Instead, in the comment section on My Blueprint, your child should indicate the course they plan to take this summer.
· Grade 11 and 12 students interested in taking cooperative education must sign up for coop in Student Services, beginning on Monday March 3rd and Tuesday March 4th. Students interested in a half day placement should select course code COOP02. Students interested in a FULL DAY placement should select course code COOP04. Please note that Full Day coop IS available for both grade 11 and 12 students.
· Grade 10 Students: For the 2025/26 school year, Civics and Careers will be offered in all HWCDSB schools via e-Learning. This will allow our students to complete one of the two mandatory eLearning credits that are required to graduate. This gives students the opportunity to develop 21st century skills and learn about Digital Citizenship. We are excited to make this course available to our Grade 10 students for the first time for the next school year. If you, or your child, have any questions or concerns about this new e-Learning course please contact our school and we will be happy to assist you.
It is essential that your student attends to all registration items by Friday, March 7, 2025, as course offerings and availabilities are dependent on these selections. Courses tend to fill up quickly, and registering on time gives your child the best opportunity to secure their desired courses.
Thank you for your attention to this important process.
