We are excited to welcome our newest Bishop Ryan Celtics to Passport to Grade 9, a two-day orientation program designed to help students transition confidently from elementary school to secondary school.

Presented by the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board through St. Charles Adult and Continuing Education, Passport to Grade 9 provides incoming Grade 9 students with the opportunity to become familiar with their new school, meet staff and classmates, and build the skills and confidence needed for a successful start to high school.

During Passport to Grade 9, students will:

  • Receive their 1:1 device (students who are unable to attend will receive their device at the beginning of the school year).
  • Explore Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School, including locating classrooms, lockers, and their timetable with staff support.
  • Learn about the Grade 9 school day and what to expect during the school year.
  • Develop learning skills, organization strategies, and work habits that support academic success.
  • Meet fellow Grade 9 students from our feeder schools through engaging activities.
  • Learn about student pathways and experience the unique spirit of Catholic education, including the Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations.

Our qualified teachers and staff are committed to ensuring every student feels welcomed, prepared, and excited to begin their secondary school journey.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to check their email for additional information as it becomes available.

We look forward to welcoming our newest Bishop Ryan Celtics and helping them take the first step toward a successful and rewarding high school experience!
