As Chief Celtic, Mr. Lawlor is a proud and long-standing member of the Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School community! A graduate of St. Ann Elementary (Hamilton) and Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School, Mr. Lawlor is a product of the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board. Mr. Lawlor began his career teaching History and Religion at Cardinal Newman Catholic Secondary School eventually serving as Department Head of Religious Studies at that school for four years. He also served as the school's Learning Partner, leading teachers in pedagogical and curriculum workshops. Mr. Lawlor served as Vice-Principal of Cathedral High School for five years (2013-2018) and St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School for one year (2018-2019), prior to his appointment as Principal of Bishop Ryan.

Mr. Lawlor has a passion for developing student leaders and was heavily involved in school Student Councils and the district's Student Council Presidents' Council. In addition, he has presented numerous times at the prestigious When Faith Meets Pedagogy conference and is a recent recipient of the school board's Director of Education Award.

Mr. Lawlor serves on the Board of Directors of Contact Hamilton, a municipal agency that administers children/youth wellness services and developmental services for adults in the city. Additionally, Mr. Lawlor serves on the Board of Directors of Catholic Family Services which administers counselling to those in need and operates St. Martin's Manor, a program to support young mothers.

Mr. Lawlor and his family live on West Hamilton Mountain. He and his family are active parishioners at St. Joseph's Parish where he serves as a Eucharistic Minister and is a member of the Knights of Columbus (Council 6579). Mr. Lawlor is formerly a Children's Liturgy Instructor, Parish Council member, and Financial Council member at St. Augustine Parish (Dundas).

Mr. Lawlor is dedicated to the student and parent community of Bishop Ryan and is always available for help. His office is located within the Main Office on the main level of the building.
